#KNOWYOURIDOLS. It’s a long way we’ve come when it comes to HIP HOP. I’m sure the intention was for the inner city youth to be able to have something to EXCLUSIVELY call their OWN. It was tailor made for the B-BOY. the corporate big boys have you thinking that the music you listen to today IS HIP HOP. it’s a DERIVITIVE of hip hop. what you’re hearing today is not what he intended. it was, and still is, a WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT that started here, and DIED here first. the irony of it all is that the folks who represent TRUE HIP HOP CULTURE are actually folks from other countries other than ours. EUROPE has the life-style RIGHT. we should make moves to take it BACK. until we decide to do that, we’ll all be PIMPED till they milk us for everything it has to offer. Another year, another struggle. We can always do something to help others. It’s nothing for a person to assist in a way that will actually put you in a better position. Networking is the word, and this year, we’re trying to put ourselves in a position where we MATTER. Independant artists have such a hard time, it makes no sense to believe that you’d make your mark if you have no intentions of networking. Success relies on your ability to do that, now a days. If you can’t give it up, you gain NOTHING. Remember that. It’s about the underdog. The reason the underdog eventually makes it is because someone gave ‘em a SHOT. You never know who you’ll find. They told Anita Baker she was finished and couldn’t sing. Well, I’m sure the folks who told her that are kicking themselves in the ass every time they hear her songs on the radio. It only took someone to believe in the underdog, and that was it. Yeah. We suffer from delusions of grandeur when it comes to believing that we make a DIFFERENCE. ‘Cause we know we DO.
